Hi Everyone,

I have a friend that is going to start flying and he would like to know if there are any Android Tablet Apps to recommend?  I have a 696 and an iPad w/Foreflight so I'm not any help.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I use OruxMaps which gives me a free moving map over VFR/IFR charts, and then just download the (for now) free plates from Chartbundle.com, and open in a pdf reader. All free, no flight planning, but that's what panel mounts and fltplan.com do for me.

Excellent suggestions.  I passed the along.  Jeff we should connect some day.  I'm at LZU--can't get much closer.

I have a Vizio and I too use NAVIATOR.. A great product at a very good price.  FLTPLAN has an android app that is basically the AFD. For FREE.  See my pictures of the Naviator app at some of my other posts in IPAD Mounts.  I like the Android over the IPAD at less than 1/3 the price !

RMS Technology, Inc. that produces Flitesoft flight planning and Vista moving map software which I like and use will be introducing a new Android product called Express at Sun&Fun.

If it is as good as their windows programs it should be worth looking at.

I use Navigator. Just today they added some functionality like weather overlays and some shortcut buttons to commonly used areas. Not up to Foreflight yet I don't think, but it seems to get better every couple months.
