PeteMc Posted March 9, 2023 Report Posted March 9, 2023 Looks like parts to rebuild my Aerosonic 651035-0107 combo MP/FF gauge are scarce. Anyone know of a shop that has the parts or has a replacement on the shelf? I'm hoping with people moving to the newer JPI or GI275 EIS that there are a few sitting on the shelf. Going into a 1980 M20K 231 Thanks! Quote
PeteMc Posted March 10, 2023 Author Report Posted March 10, 2023 Still looking for a MP/FF gauge. Been in touch with the shops (11) that I know about with no luck. May have to start looking at the JPI vs. the G EIS.... Quote

May have to start looking at the JPI vs. the G EIS.... Mine went bad too, unable to get it overhauled (the shop tried 3 times but it never worked right) or replaced. I ended up going with this. Works great, installed myself and got a sign-off from my mechanic. http://www.aerospacelogic.com/index.php?dispatch=products.view&product_id=106 I used a reducer plate on the original instrument hole and this new one fits just fine. Mounted senders on the firewall w aluminum angle. Was a fairly simple job.(the dimmer knob described in install manual, it's unnecessary.) Edited March 11, 2023 by 75_M20F Quote
PeteMc Posted March 11, 2023 Author Report Posted March 11, 2023 @75_M20F Thanks!! Just sent the link off to my mechanic! Wonder if you can add an ambient light sensor to take care of the dimming? Quote

And the link you sent me showed Fuel Pressure, so I sent a question through their link to see if it was changeable in the settings to Fuel Flow in gallons. Got an answer back in about an hour with two different models that had Fuel Flow. Quote

Of course mine is a 75F.... http://www.aerospacelogic.com/index.php?dispatch=products.view&product_id=232 That is the Fuel Flow/MP version. Edited March 12, 2023 by 75_M20F Quote
PeteMc Posted March 25, 2023 Author Report Posted March 25, 2023 (edited) IMPORTANT NOTE: If anyone reads this thread down the road and is thinking about the Aerospace Logic MP/FF gauge, understand that it will DISABLE your JPI 700/800 Fuel Flow and Fuel Management. I'm looking into possibly with my mechanic to put in a longer fuel line so I can have two traducers. But until that happens or I hear back from JPI with a fix, it looks like I can only use the lesser Aerospace Logic fuel flow. (Which only shows fuel used since startup, no history.) As for the Aerospace Logic gauge, it looks great and is definitely a option if your MP/FF dies and you can't find a replacement either. Edited March 25, 2023 by PeteMc Quote

So I needed to replace the one gauge or go for a full replacement with a newer Primary JPI or the GI275 EIS, but the timing for that kind of installation isn't going to work right now. I may end up there, but just not now. Quote
