TNIndy Posted October 26, 2022 Report Posted October 26, 2022 Looks like Dynon finally got HDX approved for the Cessna 182. Probably two more years for the M20 at this pace Quote
Yetti Posted October 26, 2022 Report Posted October 26, 2022 This is good. I have been telling people to watch for the 182 approval. The problem with all auto pilot approvals was the 737 max debacle. Which caused the FAA to question everything autopilot wise. 1 Quote
TNIndy Posted October 26, 2022 Author Report Posted October 26, 2022 I have hopes the process will speed up but seriously doubt it. Quote
231MJ Posted October 26, 2022 Report Posted October 26, 2022 I think this is great news. I'm hoping FAA now has greater confidence in Dynon's AP and the approvals come faster. Even the Mooney AP progress bar moved on the Dynon site. 1 Quote

I plan to visit Dynon's website this evening and express interest in their panel AND AP combo. 1 Quote
KSMooniac Posted October 26, 2022 Report Posted October 26, 2022 When I asked Dynon about Mooneys at OSH in 2021, I was encouraged to learn that they have a J "in-house" to use for their development plane. Hopefully they'll be able to use it for more than just the mid-body approvals, but at least it is a start. I've been waiting for it as well and will not consider their panel until the a/p is ready. I also hope that the previous approval of the Bonanza line will give them a big head start on the Baron approvals since there is some commonality. Quote

They also have a Baron that has a unit already installed. fingers crossed. 1 Quote
NotarPilot Posted October 27, 2022 Report Posted October 27, 2022 I predict a 3Q or 4Q 2023 certification of the M20 AP. My two cents. Quote
231MJ Posted October 27, 2022 Report Posted October 27, 2022 I think Steve is right - my shop says it's about 8 months out so Q3-Q4 makes sense. Encouraging in any case. Quote
