1964-M20E Posted December 21, 2020 Report Posted December 21, 2020 neat I'd love to have the military version with the full canopy in a 310hp rocket version. I would like to see the control configuration if they went to stick control instead of yoke. 1 Quote
hammdo Posted December 21, 2020 Author Report Posted December 21, 2020 I’d love to find one of the military Mooneys! -Don Quote
MooneyMitch Posted December 21, 2020 Report Posted December 21, 2020 Wow, too much fun! Ya gotta love a creative marketing department! One day Mooney will have one again ! 1 Quote
hammdo Posted December 21, 2020 Author Report Posted December 21, 2020 Wonder who won the gold handled matched Colt 45s? -Don 3 Quote
Matt Ward Posted December 21, 2020 Report Posted December 21, 2020 This is so good, thanks for sharing! It’s what this brand stands for: speed, value, and efficiency. The new owners would do well to remember that. Interesting to me is the competitive bravado. I guess that’s Texas marketing for ya! notice how in the Super 21 ad they mention the Mooney Twin. Quote
exM20K Posted December 22, 2020 Report Posted December 22, 2020 More recently, Mooney ran an ad with the Headline: “Lose the Training Wheels.” I thought it was a clever and effective dig on Cirrus. Couldn’t find an image on the intertubes. -dan Quote

hammdo Posted December 22, 2020 Author Report Posted December 22, 2020 And a few more (I like saving what I find): How about the lifetime warranty on the wood structure! Or it so easy to fly an 11 yr old can do it! -Don Quote

At last count, there were three (3) that still had the original, down-and-welded gear. Several converted Ds here, @Skates97 and @MooneyMitch both leap to mind. 3 Quote

It started with a fixed pitch prop, and fixed gear... And for a few dollars more... Most have been converted to variable pitch and retractable... Often referred to as an M20C/D because it is an M20C in performance, but still a D in legal name... There are three Ds left with their original feet... two were MSers for a long time... but have recently been sold... There is a picture of one of the M20Ds, as it was used in a fashion shoot... beautiful girl, beautiful plane... sort of a modern version of the ads here... no TX style of hat though... Fun facts in the Mooney story... Best regards, -a- 2 Quote
