Post Avionics Preflight inspection

Howdy folks. I’ve got my J coming out of the Avionics shop next week. Had a GFC500 autopilot installed along with G5’s and 650 nav. Are there any suggested items to inspect specifically during pre-flight? I’ve read a lot about post annual inspections and am familiar with things to look for in that regard. Should I be focusing on anything specifically as it pertains to an autopilot? Thanks for your input.

Top to bottom testing of every aspect... in VMC...

Mostly to make sure you are familiar with the operations...

A small step for a man... I giant leap for an analog man... 

Check the latest challenges for the GTNs... there is a database download challenge this week... for some...

If something has gone awry... it is probably a tiny detail that won’t arise until on a particular type of approach...

You should get on your back and look up under the instrument panel with a flash light for loose wiring, unconnected plugs, tools left and that nothing interferes with the flight controls. You should also remove the panels around the servos and inspect those for control continuity, security and tools left.  Your autopilot manual should have a section how to verify correct a/p operation on the ground and run your trims full limits in addition. to normal control checks. Left over tools is the most common maintenance failure.
