Looks like the factory transducer from my 1994 M20J has quit. Wiring rings out and the excitation voltage is about 10V, but there is no output.

Anyone got one you'd like to sell?

It's a Kulite APT-153-1000-30PSIG

What do you think the chances are for getting it OH’d?

There is probably a company that specializes in such an activity for small complex devices like these...

We had a brief discussion for fuel pressure transducers for the Bravo recently...

Transducers seem to live in a pretty harsh environment of heat and vibration...

Could be something simple on the inside...

PP thoughts only...

I have thinking about these devices since I lost my OilP sensor about two years ago...

There were no OilP sensors for sale anywhere... for the Mooney.  Several hundred dollars and four months wait for a primary gauge...

You might see used ones, where an MSer has upgraded to a JPI and their old sensors Have gone on a shelf...

Best regards,

ive got three of the kulites.

one fuel which doesnt work.

two for oil one was used as the fuel sensor and worked but read a little low.

Lasar quoted me $6918.94 for a new one. so I went JPI

ill send them to you if you want to use the oil.

i am told you can bake them for a few hours in the oven and sometimes they come back online.

i never tried it.

Thanks, Mike. Being a retired EE, I did some further research. These transducers utilize a strain gauge pressure sensing component in a Wheatstone bridge configuration. The regulated excitation voltage comes from the panel gauge and is about 10V. The output is 0-100mV (no pressure to full scale). The fuel pressure transducer is 0-30 PSIG (pounds per square inch gage, meaning it reads pressure above ambient). The oil pressure transducer is 0-100 PSIG, so it would read about 33% low if used to measure fuel pressure.

@jcovington pointed out in another thread (see below) that Omega (www.omega.com) makes a standard transducer with the same specs. It is a PX309-030GV. It has a male NPT input instead of a flare tube nipple, but otherwise seems to be compatible. Current price is $209.45. I ordered one to try it out. Kulite tells me that their transducers are not repairable whereas the Omega transducers may be repaired.
