Most people don’t know that is hiding under the instrument panel...

One part, many people don’t fly at night....

The other part... the bulb went dead decades ago...

The third part... it doesn’t get mentioned in the owners manual anywhere...

If there is a fourth part... the twist iris got twisted shut before the change in ownership...

It is a twist iris, and push to test, like the gear lights...

PP thoughts only, not a mechanic...

My manual actually refers to it, I just forget to find it when I crawl under there for other things.
Need a reason to wedge my head and shoulders down there to get the right viewing angle.(Insert upside down smiling emoji)

Next time you are adding post or panel lights... the lights are all wired to a source in the same area...

To illuminate the fuel selector.

Does anyone actually look at the fuel selector??

I reach down and turn it through the "off" detent to the right/left detent as desired.  I want to "feel" it drop into the detent; no point in looking.
