Curious if anyone has (recently) seen N3440N. It’s a 68 model year Although it often shows up as a 67. It began as a demo for the good folks in Willmar. My dad bought it spring of 69.

We sold the airplane after my dad passed in 1993....the airplane went to Indiana then to Arkansas. Was with a dealer or 2 and someone really did a fine job refurbishing her.

Now it sits in far NW corner of Washington state...but apparently doesn’t fly. It’s the airplane I grew up in. Although I love my C, I’d look very longingly at 40N

The first pic was taken by my dad as I was (flying 40N) zooming past him in his buddies C182. The 2nd pic I believe was taken by a dealer in Tx or Ok some time after the refurb.

Do you know where in WA it is?

Way up near the border.

The name shows up as Clarence Ranck

Well I was in Bellingham a week ago and didn’t see it, he must have it at a smaller airport up there.  I’ll keep my eyes open for it.

Thanks Don @hammdo, I had been looking for a long time and found the grizzly air service Post a short time ago.  Can you believe $59k for that airplane???  Wow... I’d pay 59 in a heartbeat for a nice F...think that was back in 09 or so.

I could swear I've googled this tail number for some reason recently. I think I saw the plane or perhaps the add. I remember it because owners address in Blaine, WA. airport at Blaine got closed over 10 years ago and i never had a chance landing there.

No flightaware tracking of the plane which tells me it's either not flown or owner didn't install ADSB.

@Igor_U, I don’t recall precisely but I believe the grizzly air service ad was almost 10 years ago. I only discovered the ad recently, so i could be way off.

It’s new news that the airport in Blaine Wa is closed...but it makes sense. When I did a google-earth of the address listed for the airplane, it looked like a warehouse type environment however there appears to be at least a partial air strip next to the warehouse.

Thanks @J Bird. I’ve been checking flightaware for quite some time.

Even dating back to 1993 when I sold the airplane for my mother, I’ve periodically searched and researched the location of 40N. It was only recently that I actually saw the transformation that had taken place and was able to see that the airplane (or at least the owner) is in/near Blaine Wa.

Hey all!  Thanks so much for the input and help. I found the owner of 40N.... I think he’s on Mooneyspace !!
