I believe I remember this plane forsale not too long ago.  It's got to be a scam.  If not, someone should jump on it.

Well here is something I could tell you for sure. When I owned my 1980 J (one year older then this one) the serial number was in the 900’s.  The serial number on this one is NOT in the correct sequence for a 1981 M20J 201.

Furthermore, I had replied to this guy a couple months ago when he first advertised, before I knew.  His response about this being his dad's plane and him being in the Air Force didn't add up to the improper grammar and English of his email, nor did his email come from an Air Force email-address.  A little poking around into the guy's claimed squadron and rank revealed both a long retired squadron, but more interestingly, an almost word-for-word text of a common car scam email (much like the Nigerian bank scam emails).

So definitely, BE WARNED

Hmmm, wonder if the registered owner (Cohen Ronen according to the FAA registry) knows his aircraft is for sale???  His address is in Los Angeles, so I highly doubt the aircraft was moved to Florida to be handled by a broker with two first names...

Tail number is N1146T.

I saw that ad on barnstormers and TAP recently.  Mentioned the make, model, engine total time and avionics package to my lovely (non-flying) fiancee and without skipping a beat she responded "that's a scam if I've ever heard one."

I believe this may be a legit sale of 1146T. The phone number listed is David Ross Brien # 136581 - Attorney Licensee Search (ca.gov) who has had a good number of airplanes come up to his name but the aircraft is registered to DRB helicopters. It passes the smell test to me, good luck on the sale.

I have all books since new, no damage history, the only mods are avionics.  I do not have digital copies as there are too many records.
