If not, it will make life a lot easier going back on.

But if you're looking at it from the side so the prop is on your left, that lower bolt on that side can't be reached with the special wrench. Only way I could get it off was with a flat head and a hammer. That was the easy part. Getting that but back on was another story. I used grease on the end of a flathead, stuck it to the stud and pushed the vacuumed pump against it to get it lines up and straight. Then hammer and screwdriver again. Back on probably took 40 tries and a lot of dropped washers. 1

Vacuum instruments are cheap and good insurance. -Robert If you get two G5s, one for AI and one for DG/HSI, the DG unit provides backup for the AI if you want it. i.e., you can configure either to do either job, so if either fails and you really want the other, just switch the display. 1

And each has a backup battery that will last 4 hours. So you have up to 8 hours of back up. 1
