So here’s the story. Pre annual inspection EDM 700 working perfectly. Post annual not so much.

exhaust temp on cylinder two not showing any temp. We switch number two probe to cylinder four and now four doesn’t work. Bad probe? That’s what I’m thinking. So I buy a new probe and install it to cylinder four and you guessed it, cylinder four working perfect. Now cylinder two isn’t working. The only thing I did was add a oil pressure option to the EDM 700, which works as advertised. The the heck?

Expect the thermocouples to use micro volts... tiny tiny voltages... expect to diligently clean their connections to improve their malfunction...

EGT sensors live in a harsh environment... so they have a tendency to wear out and get destroyed over decades... I don’t think I’ve worn one out yet...

PP thoughts only, not a mechanic...

Best regards,

Poor connection in the cylinder 2 circuit?  Check for poor crimps on the ring terminals.  The wire is very tiny and is usually folder double before crimping.

I’m wondering if the P2 connection (on the back of the display) was bumped/moved/stressed when P3 (the small one in the center) was removed, oilP was added, and connector reinserted?
