jrwilson Posted August 3, 2011 Report Posted August 3, 2011 Swissmooney needs to post more pictures like the formation flight with the Hunter and the matterhorn. Check his photogallery, very cool. Quote
DaV8or Posted August 3, 2011 Report Posted August 3, 2011 Those are cool!! Maybe in the military over there? Do they still fly Hunters? Nice pictures. Should be on the cover of the MAPA Log for sure. Quote
HopePilot Posted August 3, 2011 Report Posted August 3, 2011 I loved his picture of the Matterhorn. We have a Matterhorn of our own, but it has a big TFR over it. Quote

Swissmooney Posted August 5, 2011 Report Posted August 5, 2011 Hi Mooniacs thanks for the applause... no I am not military and no they retired the Hunter about 15 years ago however there are several of them flying (Swiss Airforce flies the F/A 18!) http://www.swisshunterteam.com/ however I had the chance to fly this amazingly beautiful bird (built 1953!! without any computer) with the ex-commander of a famous Hunter-wing and and having found an excellent bond decided to fly this formation (I will add some pix from the inside of the mooney to the gallery!). Of course I was full out and we did a slight descent, the pix was taken by a professional from the ground (probably a cannon of a lens!!) HB-DGL is a MK231 1985 with longrange tanks/ox/ and a new panel and we are planning to fly from switzerland to the USA via Greenland and of course looking forward meeting many mooniacs along the adventure I had the opportunity to fly HB-DGL from Vancouver to Switzerland in 2006 (within 5 days!! business was pressing!) so next time as a semi-retireree I will spend more time for sightseeing! Have fun Heinz Quote

N6936V Posted August 8, 2011 Report Posted August 8, 2011 Grüezi Heinz, outstanding! That panel must be nice and warm in winter. Let me know if you are passing the South Carolina coast, so we can serve Röschti and Bratwurscht mit Tommy mustard. Nicholas Quote
