Installation is *almost* done and the shop kicked me out because a) my annual expired on the 31st and they didn't want to deal with a ferry permit, b) they were way over schedule and they needed the space.   The only things remaining are 1) they had a lot of trouble integrating the Free Flight Ranger with the IFD and were in touch with both companies to see how to resolve it, 2) my Century III autopilot got sent out for overhaul ($$) and failed ground test on the pitch control when they were demonstrating it for me.   The amp box got pulled to go back for another round.   3) They haven't deleted the ADF antennas yet,  4) there's a funky bug in the electrical system that we *think* is because somebody replaced the normally-closed avionics master relay with a normally-open relay somewhere along the way, but they didn't quite have time to fully sort it out.

Anyway, the remaining issues aren't too bothersome until the time comes to go back for completion.   Meanwhile, installed was a JPI EDM-900, AV-17 (Bitchin Betty thingie), IFD540, PMA450A/B (not sure which yet), FF Ranger (not working yet), G5 HSI, new clock (used from their spare inventory), and an ACK-04 ELT.

Once the annual is done I'll get some more quality time with it in the air.   Only put 0.7 on it on the way back, as the speaker was turned up all the way and feeding back through the mic.   Figured that out and fixed it already.

Before and after pics.

Sweet!

And the ASI got overhauled, too.   It was reading 15 kts high at low speeds, which was higher than my estimate of 10 kts high.   Judging by the one landing I've done with the new ASI, it's *much* easier to fly on final now.  ;)

I was thinking that’s a lot of wires...  Now I know, that is a lot of wires!

Good luck with the shake down...

Expect the JPI to have some challenging issues....

If you don’t get a JPI or sensor issue... take a moment to celebrate good fortune... :)

Now that we have the before pictures...

Proper after pictures need the colorful screens emitting lots o color! :)

Nice work,
