I finally got to pass on the art of flying to a fellow mechanic in my part of the world.  I was able to create a never to forget moment for him.  It was surreal to watch someone enjoy the moment.  As soon as  the wheels left the ground and we covered some distance that he could relate to driving The questions started and the bug had bitten.  Really cool feeling to see someone else enjoy the moment.

Not cool to infect someone with the disease  like that

Ignore him, he's being grumpy!

Giving someone their first ever flight is a whole lot of fun! So is helping someone get their license. I volunteered with AOPA's Project Pilot, and meno red a student before I moved where there is a dearth of pilots . . . On the other hand, it's kind of neat (but a bit lonely) having the only flying aircraft on the field . . . .

Ok I was a little evil...  I didn't say a word about the headaches and stress from owning but I let him have the controls at about 6k and let him "fly" the plane and I have to admit it was a great feeling to make someone else feel the freedom I get to experience anytime I want too.

It's a lot more fun to let them drive on the ground and let them think they're turning the plane with the yoke then turn them left when they try and go right. :)

Honestly I love taking people up, especially on their first flight. I have more trouble finding people that want to go than anything.

I gave up years ago. No one wants to go unless it's pre-planned 6 months in advance or something. No one wants to go spontaneously ever.

Finding someone to take up has never been an issue but I'm fairly flexible if need be, which is good because flying solo to me has got to be the most boring thing I have ever done.
