I am a member over there also. Most of their stuff does not interest me, but there is some overlap of interest. I post occasionally.

Me too..I've owned both types and flown a few turbine beech products...It's all a trade off and sometimes miss being able to load a 50cc mini Honda in the back

I didn't really think our CG was such a benefit when I bought my J ... but it continues to be one of its strongest assets. I'm sure all of us are in the same ballpark, but I can load full baggage compartment and have my dear Mrs and child in the back seats, burn down from full tanks to reserves and be within CG. It's amazing.

I have done a bunch of hypothetical scenarios for W&B calculations and I would be hard pressed to find a scenario that could put the 201 out of the CG envelope!

Got one Mike. If you put full bags, full tanks, two women in back seats and one pilot, you will move the CG back during fuel burn and can go just to or possibly beyond aft limit if you cut into reserves. be47b76ddb4fc93a7306b334f24d5668.jpg

Yep, with me in the left seat and anybody 100#+ in the right seat there is NO scenario short of being over gross that would put me out of CG. Gotta love that!

In that case...

Swap the IO360 for the IO550. The two extra cylinders and extra prop blade will keep things a bit further forward... :)

The fun thing about getting to know your plane is all the WnB mission options that you can document and put in a binder...

Now, with the WnB app it is click on the right load scenario, make a change or two.  Get graph.

I set my app to show various points from T/O, to empty fuel, with hourly dots on the graph....

Keep in mind running out of trim occurs prior to other more serious issues like tale stalls. Nobody wants to find out the trim isn't set up properly this way...

The M20C and the M20R load very similarly as you guys are describing the J.

You also become very adept at asking how much the two guests in the back weigh...or don't weigh.

Best regards,
