I need something that can get position information from my 430W, and takes no panel space. Wish there was an affordable slide-in ADSB-compliant replacement for my G327 transponder. Still don't understand why the stupid transponder has to stay, also. The way they keep adding equipment is going to force my plane into obsolescence due to lack of panel space! At least the PO removed things like ADF, DME, Loran, etc. My Brittain units are mounted below the panel, so I can't even move them out of the way.

While others have suggested the GDL88, I'd suggest you just pull the G327 and sell it, then buy something to replace it.  If you just want OUT, that could be a KT74, TT31, or GTX335.  The GTX will also get you TIS-A IN, but that may eventually go away.  Either way, (GDL or one of the others) it isn't going to be a slide in replacement so you are going to have a bit of installation cost.  Swapping transponders won't take up any more panel space, selling the G327 will help offset the cost a bit, you won't eat into your useful load, and I'm guessing installation cost will actually be less than that of the GDL88.

If you want IN, I'm loving our GTX345 already!

Good luck!

It will display traffic (TIS-B) and FIS-B on the 750 and if you have a portable device like a GDL-39 or Stratus, it will give full TIS-B to an iPad app like Garmin Pilot or ForeFlight. It could be considered a "combo" device like a GDL-88 with a ES transponder wrapped up in one box.

I'm probably not reading that the way you wrote it, but with the GTX345 you don't need the GDL39 or Stratus.  The GTX345 will display traffic on the GTN750, it can display either radar or terrain on the GTN750 (menu selectable) but not both at the same time.  It can also provide METAR, TAF, NOTAMS in text format.  At the same time it can also display all the FIS-B and TIS-B on up to two devices at the same time.

I think what you meant to say it is will display info on either Garmin Pilot or Foreflight just like the GDL39 or Stratus would.

It can remember up to 13 devices it has been paired to via bluetooth and automatically connect to them when it sees them.

I re-wrote my response. It was a long day yesterday.

John, that sounds like the route I am going to go, exact same equipment.

Do you get traffic on the 430W?

Sorry about the delay - out for the holiday.

No, unfortunately the KT-74 is "out" only, but with the Stratus I get traffic but not on the 430W.
