BTW -- I never knew there were this many pilots who just flew for one airline!

When I flew for brand X there were so many of us that they did not even want your name....when you called them for scheduling stuff you just introduced yourself by your employee number.......hello this is 123456 I would like to trade this trip etc.........

One day I decided to check on the registration of some planes that I had rented through the years. I was horrified to have learned that at least 40% of them had been in involved in serious crashes and many of those were fatal.

Between instructors dying and airplanes crashing, I'm keeping away from you.

Ya should see it after the NWA merger!

Seniority list is one of the places where size matters and the smaller your number, the better your life.  :D

My Dad was a Pennsylvania RR, then Penn Central and finally Conrail employee. I remember when he hit #1 on the seniority list. Picked his hours, picked his routes and could "bump" anyone. Was number 1 for the last 4 years of his 40 year career.

When I was "up there" on the seniority list, I worked a 2 on/5 off schedule.  Took off at 8 AM, flew to SJU, ate lunch, flew home.  No layovers. Home every night.

I had my choice of "working" Tuesday and Wednesday, or Wednesday and Thursday.

Seniority is good, but getting there can be awful!

Wow! And I thought my four 10s was a great schedule! Where do I sign up for two 8s???
