gsxrpilot Posted February 1, 2016 Report Posted February 1, 2016 After sitting in the box for a year, they are finally getting installed today. Mooney delivered new and upgraded shafts last week. The plan is to be done in time for departure on Wednesday for the Mooney Caravan Clinic in Yuma. Stay tuned for pics... 4 Quote
ShermAv8tor Posted February 10, 2016 Report Posted February 10, 2016 Any pics yet of before & after? Quote

M20F Posted February 21, 2016 Report Posted February 21, 2016 Very nice, I have to say your original controls are quite possibly the ugliest ones I have ever seen! 1 Quote
DAVIDWH Posted February 21, 2016 Report Posted February 21, 2016 Are you sure you didn't heist those from a new Acclaim? Really professional work. Just had mine re-smoked in Cleveland and they are nice, but do not compare to yours. Understand Donald Trump is headed to Aero Comfort in his 757 to have similar work done. Best, DH 1 Quote
Mooneymite Posted February 21, 2016 Report Posted February 21, 2016 Beautiful! Can the original PC disconnect button be installed in those? Quote

That's a good question. I used all three (PTT, AP disconnect, Alt hold) buttons from my old yokes in the new ones. But they're all just electric buttons. Thanks for all the nice comments and I do love the look and feel of these new yokes. But the best part is having the PTT under the index finger and the other buttons under the thumb. You can see where they were located on the old yokes. They were impossible to reach and very difficult to use the radio while flying formation. Quote
TWinter Posted February 22, 2016 Report Posted February 22, 2016 I had my originals recovered by Aero Comfort. Turned out good, but I went back and forth about getting the newer thicker style like yours..Changing the shafts was the only thing that held me back. My AP wasn't crazy about swapping them out. After seeing these I wished I had pushed him more to do it. Yours look great! Very nice.. 1 Quote

I was shocked how easy it was. Quote
LevelWing Posted February 22, 2016 Report Posted February 22, 2016 That looks great! Where did you get the controls from? Quote

LevelWing Posted February 22, 2016 Report Posted February 22, 2016 They look great. The pilot side control on mine is leather wrapped but is pretty torn up at this point -- I like how you did yours and how they turned out. I may have to look at doing something like that. Quote
