2015 logbook review

I flew the least amount of hours I have in my 8th year of aircraft ownership: 52 flights and 72.7 hours of which 62.8 hours were in my Mooney Missile.  The reason is a good one - as many of you know my first child was born in June and that lowered my available flying opportunities (gladly).  I also had to deal with a small foot procedure that grounded me for the final six weeks of the year (though I flew right seat while a few great Mooney pilots kept my engine exercised).  In 2014, my hours were under 100 for the first time with 90.1 hours total, as I was married in 2014 (again, gladly).  I plan to hit that 100 hour mark in 2016 again!

In 2015 I attended a formation flying clinic, attended Mooney Summit III, and my wife and I enjoyed our final Mooney trip when it was just the two of us (we flew to Asheville, NC for a pre-baby-moon getaway).

For 2016 I hope to finally finish off the Commercial Rating, maybe earn a tail wheel endorsement, and get back to 100 hours of flying time!

I budgeted for 150 hours last year and logged 140.3. All of it in the Mooney. I fly a desk for a living and fly the Mooney for fun.

30 hrs last year after buying my first M20E. Had not flown in 14 yrs. 8000 TT flying for old Midway and US Air Express(dash 8) got my fresh Biannual in 1.5 hrs in a c-172 and flew my Mooney home 2 weeks later. just like riding a bike after 14 yrs off. Ownership is so much better than flying someone els's plane

95 flights and 95.6 hours-mostly before the fall. A little less than I have done the last few years. I'm surprised I even got that much time now that I'm in grad school-without an income. This year will likely be much more anemic with school...but then I'll be back at it.

Not sure of the number of flights, but managed about 85 hrs total for 2015. I also got to experience two longer VFR xcountry trips this past year (Tennessee to Maine-twice) My longest to date. It was a great learning experience. Hoping 2016 will bring more cross-country allowing me to really use the Mooney for what it was built for.

Sounds a lot like me in 2010 Congrats and have fun.

Looking at my logbook I'm surprised how much I flew this past year 172 hours, with 62 in helicopters and suprisingly the last page in my book for 2015 I flew more time in helicopters than I did in fixed wing.  I think I'm going ot the dark side.  Help me please.

Reviewing my logbook: 109 flights and over 180 hours, first full year of ownership, hoping for a lower insurance premium this year.

Woohoo! AOPA just called, my insurance dropped almost 40%, I guess it pays to fly more

84 flights and a total of 90 hours flight time, 83 h in my Mooney and 7 h in a Cessna 172 as volunteer pilot for an Air Rescue Squadron. That's doesn't sound like much but I enjoyed every minute up there...
