Guitarmaster Posted January 9, 2015 Report Posted January 9, 2015 Need a recommendation for a shop around the northern Illinois area to do the prop ad. Thanks guys! Quote
TWinter Posted January 9, 2015 Report Posted January 9, 2015 Cody Stallings is located in Missouri I think and works for a good prop shop. He is a member here on the forum. Quote
alex Posted January 9, 2015 Report Posted January 9, 2015 Aircraft Propeller Service in Wheeling Illinois, they are across the street from KPWK (Palwaukee Airport) (847)541-1133, ask for Sean. I had 2 Props done on Aerostar a while back with good results....no complaints. They Pick up and deliver depending on where you are located. 1 Quote

Glenn Posted January 9, 2015 Report Posted January 9, 2015 I have used the Hartzell factory service facility twice over the years and was pleased both times. The are located at the airport in Piqua, OH (I 17). Call ahead for price and appointment. Both times that I went the gave me an office, WIFI, a car to use to get lunch and completed my work the same day. They do good work at a fair price. Toll free number: 877-251-5362 Quote

Cody Stallings Posted January 10, 2015 Report Posted January 10, 2015 Are you just looking to get the Hub Eddy current AD complied with? Quote
Guitarmaster Posted January 10, 2015 Author Report Posted January 10, 2015 Yes but... The place in wheeling won't do it without an overhaul because of the age and the fact it had never been done. I did find shop in Rockford to do it I think. Quote
Guitarmaster Posted January 10, 2015 Author Report Posted January 10, 2015 The wheeling shop did offer to do a Top Prop conversion for $8000. Although it looks cool and goes faster, $8000 is simply out of the question unless that is my only option. Quote
Cody Stallings Posted January 10, 2015 Report Posted January 10, 2015 Oh............... Well the First inspection of the hub, the propeller has to be disassembled. ET inspection is then performed on the inside of the hub. After the reassembly of the propeller, the Ser# will be stamped with an "E", which means it has had the preliminary inspection done. After that the 100hrs inspection intervals begin. While the propeller is disassembled for the preliminary inspection, it maybe a good idea to Re-seal it at least. Factory recommends 5yr or 2000hrs on your propeller Quote
FlyDave Posted January 10, 2015 Report Posted January 10, 2015 Sounds like Cody Stallings is your man! Quote

Guitarmaster Posted January 11, 2015 Author Report Posted January 11, 2015 Thanks Cody. I will be in touch! Quote
The-sky-captain Posted January 11, 2015 Report Posted January 11, 2015 Cody is a good dude! I had him balance my prop on a cold rainy day and to top it off I dropped a camlock into my bottom cowling. He spent an extra 10 mins or so fishing it out for me. 1 Quote
treebobboy Posted January 11, 2015 Report Posted January 11, 2015 Cody is "The Man" when it comes to props. For those who don't know, Cody bought out his old company (Mid American Propeller) and is now the sole owner of the new company, Stallings Propeller. He always takes time to explain what he is doing and why he is doing it. One nice thing about him is that he will never try to "rip off" any customer. If you're broke away from your home base, he can come to you and work on the problem on the spot or take the prop back to his shop for repair. 1 Quote
Guitarmaster Posted February 24, 2015 Author Report Posted February 24, 2015 Just wanted to follow up. Cody did a great job! Well worth the three hour flight. I can highly recommend him. The plane is almost as smooth as my 737 now! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk 1 Quote
