Family vacation in Hawaii has kept me from OSH this year.  I hope someone can post a few pictures of the mooneys that get to Oskosh.

Well, it continues to be a challenge!  We relocated to FLD this afternoon before they closed, grabbed another hotel room, and shuttled to OSH for a few hours.  OSH and FLD are closed to all arrivals as of this afternoon, but hopefully both will open at some point tomorrow.  I'm anxious to get to OSH and make camp to avoid all of these logistical hassles, but oh well!  We're making the best of it.  All of the grass we walked on today from the main gate thru the exhibit areas and down to the vintage parking/camping seemed to be in great shape.  The North 40 is very empty, save for a few planes here and there, and a tent city of Bonanza folks that trucked in their gear from wherever they tried to start their mass arrival.  I wish we would have done that!

Hoping for good news and some open grass in the morning...

We are looking at options, perhaps Friar Tucks as it is close. We have a rental car, small, but we could help for sure.  We are taking our friend to Juneau to get his plane.  We have a commitment tomorrow morning with the EAA Announcer, Wayne as we are doing an interview at 11:30 on the flightline.

MAPA will be a great place to meet [hope that's okay Trey/Lela!]  Everyone is welcome!  Let's get together!!!

Fernando, I will get photos up as soon as I can.  I am taking the camera today.  Our forum for the workshop [#2 GAMA] has a great view. I will take some photos of that.  We look out over the RVs whose wheel pants are dangerously close to the mud, off to the Fighter planes.  This is really something. And to be part of it all is probably a once in a lifetime thing.

Chicago concert tonight.  Mitch and I are going to try to get on the Kiss-Cam!  Maybe we will kiss and make the Mooney Tail sign.

Thanks to Eldon for getting us some press while we are here! Go Mooney!

We spent the afternoon and evening in the far Western part of the N40, hanging with the Cessna 2 Osh folks as they camped with their tents only.  Dinner with them in their huge white tent, across from the Bonanza tent.  Most of that grass area was quite dry for camping, with areas of soggy turf in the lower spots.

Hopefully today will bring the word that aircraft can pull into the N40 for camping.........we'll see.  Lots of sunshine yesterday and today.   See you all at the MAPA tent and for Chicago tonight!

Hi Dave.

We've posted on the "white board" at the MAPA tent about Friar Tucks, Tuesday evening.  Friars is withing walking distance from the N40 and are located just outside the fence in the far Northwest corner of the N40.  See you today at the MAPA booth.  It will be fun to see everyone.

Chicago concert was great last night!  Hard to believe they came to us some 40 years ago with their music.  As a brass player, it was most awesome to hear, and watch them perform all those great horn lines that are so famous.  WOW!!

Today, more planes seem to be coming in as the grass dries out a bit.  Let's hope for more.  Yippee!!!

Ute and I just came back today.  Ed Ferguson and Stacey flew with us all the way back to Ottawa.

OSH WAS GREAT!!!

Stayed in Vintage Camping.  Hey...!  Its a '65.

Dinner on Tuesday was great and meeting all the good folks from MAPA, the Mooney Ambassadors and other Mooney drivers as we walked around the camping areas was also good.  Thanks to Jezzie for the rides in his Mustang.

Osh is full of good people and the event brings even more together.  Did not spend too much on goodies, but perhaps more than anticipated.

Will be back next year.
