filmsense Posted August 22, 2014 Report Posted August 22, 2014 Sometimes I find after take off that the electric trim switch is mysteriously in the off position. Either I absently switch it off without noticing (very unlikely) Or it jumps to the off position on its on. Any thoughts?
FlyDave Posted August 22, 2014 Report Posted August 22, 2014 The rocker switches in the panel are not just rocker switches but also circuit breakers. It sounds like you either have a short in the electric trim circuit or the switch/circuit breaker are going bad. If needed, these switches are hard to find and very expensive when you do find them. Maybe the factory has them or a PMA'ed part now that they're back in production.
filmsense Posted August 25, 2014 Author Report Posted August 25, 2014 Thanks Dave. That makes a lot of sense...

Either I absently switch it off without noticing (very unlikely) Or it jumps to the off position on its on. Any thoughts? I may be being over simplistic, but this happened to me twice over the past year. What it turned out to be was that when applying full power, my finger (or knuckle) hit the bottom of the switch. The first time I hadn't noticed it and thought the servo had bitten the dust until I later noticed the rocker was in the down position. The second time it occurred I actually noticed myself doing it.
