Houman Posted August 10, 2014 Report Posted August 10, 2014 Hi, I have 3 push buttons on the right hand of the left yoke (pic) that no ones seems to know what is there for. I know it's not the speed brakes, nor mic, nor autopilot disconnect, nor trim since those are on the left hand of the left yoke. here are couple of pictures, if anyone can tell me what they are used for, I would appreciate it much, as they are not identified, nor my partner owner or mechanic knows what the heck they are. thanks... Sorry, the pictures are now attached... Quote
jrwilson Posted August 10, 2014 Report Posted August 10, 2014 Time to start randomly pushing buttons...best way to figure out what they do. Quote
MARZ Posted August 11, 2014 Report Posted August 11, 2014 Time to start randomly pushing buttons...best way to figure out what they do. Careful - one might be the ejection seat Quote
Cruiser Posted August 11, 2014 Report Posted August 11, 2014 One is probably the transponder Ident. Quote
aviatoreb Posted August 11, 2014 Report Posted August 11, 2014 You did fill the magazine of bullets for the submachine guns, didn't you? Otherwise the third button won't do anything when you press it. 1 Quote
Houman Posted August 11, 2014 Author Report Posted August 11, 2014 I just attached the pictures... Quote
aviatoreb Posted August 11, 2014 Report Posted August 11, 2014 Which autopilot do you have? My autopilot, the KFC200, has two buttons on the yoke. One is an autopilot disconnect and the other is an autopilot temporary disconnect - for use in an emergency evasive maneuver. Then what is the third? Is that your push to talk button? Quote
Houman Posted August 11, 2014 Author Report Posted August 11, 2014 Well, I got Centuray 41 autopilot, and the disconnect seems to be on the left hand side, same as my push to talk, so these buttons on the right hand are not those... Any other suggestions ? Thanks ! Quote

N601RX Posted August 11, 2014 Report Posted August 11, 2014 One may be a radio or nav flip flop Quote

Submachine guns? Heck, I'm packing .50 caliber machine guns and missiles. Doesn't everyone? I found a couple of buttons when I bought mine that I figured out were things that the hardware was removed but the button wasn't. Quote

Now I'm pissed, I actually could use the missles from time to time in the patern to get rid of those pesky slow C172 trainers, but I guess mine did'nt come standard with it :) ha ha !!! 1 Quote

Cris Posted August 11, 2014 Report Posted August 11, 2014 Don't know what you have for avionics but it would be helpful to know. As an example if you have a PS Engineering audio panel one button might be for the Audio recorder that records the last few messages received so that they can be played back. A KLN 94 GPS will allow for frequencies to be accessed vis a vis it's "quick tune" system with an optional yoke switch. Some nav/coms also allow the frequencies to be switched with a yoke switch. King transponders like the Kt 76C also use a yoke switch to Ident. So what avionics do you have? Quote
aviatoreb Posted August 11, 2014 Report Posted August 11, 2014 My push to talk is on the left side. So is mine. Quote

chrisk Posted August 11, 2014 Report Posted August 11, 2014 I have 3 buttons on the left, in addition to PTT. Autopilot disconnect, autopilot mode select, and altitude hold. I assume you already have these in a similar position. Audio function would be high on my list. I could see a flip flop on a nav as well. Quote
RocketAviator Posted August 11, 2014 Report Posted August 11, 2014 The three buttons on my Rocket top left side of right yoke..wow what a mouth full. Push to talk on front of said side / local. Ident, Swap comm, audio replay for the PS8000 Quote
Hondo Posted August 11, 2014 Report Posted August 11, 2014 Check the Century 41 AP POH supplement http://www.mooney.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/century_41.pdf see page 13. One of them is probably the pitch synch switch. As for the second switch or button, normally the go around switch is on the panel. If yours isn't, it may be the GA switch. Quote
