I just saw this Mooney with the glareshield upholstered. Has anyone done this or had it done? Does it quiet the cabin at all?

Thanks,

Bill

FYI, This is a photo from a Rocket advertised on Barnstormers. No year given but it has the square windows. (Pre '87)

It looks very much like the job Aerocomfort does. My K model's glare shield was terribly warped. Hector and his crew flattened it and recovered it. It looks great.

+1 on Aero Comfort... They did a fantastic job with mine. Just send it down and they turn it around in no time. If I remember correctly it wasn't that expensive... At least relatively speaking.

I had a Comanche 250 Gasby glareshield which I had purchased for my Comanche but never installed and I adapted it for my 68C.  Took some work to fit it but I was very pleased with the result and allows me to place a lot of stuff on top of it which was impossible with the original g/s.

To quiet the cabin takes a significant number of steps...

- thicker glass

- cabin insulation materials

- rug materials

- firewall material

- moving the prop further forward, O style...

I have not heard of the glare shield being helpful...

I can picture the responses already.... Have you tried wearing it over your ears???

Jim, is that the shaggy red or a faux leather red?
