BillC Posted July 16, 2014 Report Posted July 16, 2014 I just saw this Mooney with the glareshield upholstered. Has anyone done this or had it done? Does it quiet the cabin at all? Thanks, Bill FYI, This is a photo from a Rocket advertised on Barnstormers. No year given but it has the square windows. (Pre '87) Quote
DonMuncy Posted July 16, 2014 Report Posted July 16, 2014 It looks very much like the job Aerocomfort does. My K model's glare shield was terribly warped. Hector and his crew flattened it and recovered it. It looks great. Quote

If I remember correctly it wasn't that expensive... At least relatively speaking. Quote
BillC Posted July 16, 2014 Author Report Posted July 16, 2014 Thanks. Did you guys notice any difference in cabin noise? Quote
AmigOne Posted July 17, 2014 Report Posted July 17, 2014 I had a Comanche 250 Gasby glareshield which I had purchased for my Comanche but never installed and I adapted it for my 68C. Â Took some work to fit it but I was very pleased with the result and allows me to place a lot of stuff on top of it which was impossible with the original g/s. Â Â Quote
carusoam Posted July 17, 2014 Report Posted July 17, 2014 To quiet the cabin takes a significant number of steps... - thicker glass - cabin insulation materials - rug materials - firewall material - moving the prop further forward, O style... I have not heard of the glare shield being helpful... I can picture the responses already.... Have you tried wearing it over your ears??? Best regards, -a- Jim, is that the shaggy red or a faux leather red? Quote
