I fill like replacing a Garmin 530 non waas for a Garmin 750.

For those who have changed their 430/530 for a Garmin 650/750:
Are you satisfied?
What advantage gives you the most value?
For IFR flight, what are the big +?

Thank You

I have a 430 non wass and would like to upgrade to a 530 or even better 750 if possible. When I say possible I mean realistic price. I heard numbers like 10k for a 530 and 15k for a 750 installed. That's just a little heavy for me right now. I heard the installation is what gets you $$ and the down time.

I strongly recommend you avoid flying with a 750 at all cost. Especially one with GPSS.

You're warned. Exposure to these black boxes could be hard on your flying budget. :P

The moving map, the screen resolution, the information you get...and I could go on and on...it is really a different world once you move from the 430 to the 750. Don't eve try it...it will impact your wallet.

For me there is no incentive going from a proven 530W to a 750. There is no real added function on the 750 that will change the flight profile. The 750 has higher resolution display but for me there is no discernible difference when viewed from the pilot position. On the 530W you can get quicker to the common pages by just pushing a bottom or rotating a knob. On the 750 you have to do multiple key entries to get to a page. The 750 is taller than the 530W requiring on some installation to relocate the audio panel or use the 750 remote controlled audio panel. This can impair COM redundancy if the 750 fails. I am very happy with 530W and plan to keep it

I think one of the obvious differences with the 750 versus the 530 (aside the bigger touch screen) is the availability of the airways being selectable in the flight plans. Is it worth moving over for that, probably not.
