bnicolette Posted October 29, 2013 Report Posted October 29, 2013 Okay last one for now. Just enjoying the GoPro. Feedback welcome (good or bad obviously). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v1xuOHeWu8o 1 Quote
Txbyker Posted October 29, 2013 Report Posted October 29, 2013 Brett, very nice. How are you connected to get audio? 1 Quote
201er Posted October 29, 2013 Report Posted October 29, 2013 I think if you could find a better looking pilot, you'd be all set! Quote
bnicolette Posted October 29, 2013 Author Report Posted October 29, 2013 Brett, very nice. How are you connected to get audio? I hook a digital voice recorder (Sony ICD-PX333) into a vacant headset jack. I like the engine noise in the videos so the GoPro will pick that up and then in iMovie I can have several audio tracks going and adjust the volume in each. Really simple and seems to work well? I guess there is a cord if you wanted to hook the GoPro into the intercom but then there would only be the communications and no engine noise. 1 Quote
Oscar Avalle Posted October 29, 2013 Report Posted October 29, 2013 Brett really nice video. Reminded me of the times I was based in KGAI. Quote
mcpilot Posted October 29, 2013 Report Posted October 29, 2013 Hey Brett Keep those vids coming... Here is one I recorded using the GoPro mic adapter connected to the intercom via the rear phone jack... The video may not be available yet (still processing) 2 Quote
Marauder Posted October 30, 2013 Report Posted October 30, 2013 I think if you could find a better looking pilot, you'd be all set! Really?! Sort of like this guy who looks like he hasn't taken a shower in a week and is pouring his drink down the front of his shirt? 2 Quote
fantom Posted October 30, 2013 Report Posted October 30, 2013 Really?! Sort of like this guy who looks like he hasn't taken a shower in a week and is pouring his drink down the front of his shirt? LOL.... ....and is probably on a business, tax deductible, flight Quote
BigTex Posted October 30, 2013 Report Posted October 30, 2013 I think I've seen this guy in a bunch of Mooney YouTube vid's... Need to track them down. Quote
201er Posted October 30, 2013 Report Posted October 30, 2013 Haha, you got me. I spilled red powerade on my NJMooney shirt just shortly after departing San Marcos. The mic gets in the way so you have to play around it to drink and with an overfilled bottle it ended up going kinda bad. Hey mcpilot, I like the view. Where did you mount the camera to? And is it just how the camera's mounted or were you aiming to land between the centerline and runway edge? Practicing narrow field landing precision? Quote
bnicolette Posted October 31, 2013 Author Report Posted October 31, 2013 And is it just how the camera's mounted or were you aiming to land between the centerline and runway edge? Practicing narrow field landing precision? Damn! He's tough. Don't sweat it Mc. I've seen enough of 201er's landings to know...........................well let's just leave it at that. Quote

I wasn't really sure, 10hrs in the plan with not stops.............. had me wondering. Quote
jnisley Posted October 31, 2013 Report Posted October 31, 2013 Great video! Brings back memories of flying into RDG to drop off/pickup my son and daughter who taught summer bible school in the city. 1 Quote
MooneyPTG Posted January 12, 2014 Report Posted January 12, 2014 Can you tell me where and what type of cable you used to connect your Sony to a headset jack. Thanks Quote
bnicolette Posted January 13, 2014 Author Report Posted January 13, 2014 Can you tell me where and what type of cable you used to connect your Sony to a headset jack. Thanks I just used a regular 2.5mm jack with an adapter to go from that size to the 1/4" which will plug into the headset jack of the airplane. This is not the one I have but you get the idea: http://www.amazon.com/Right-Angle-2-5mm-Stereo-Adapter/dp/B009GLGNBY Quote

Marauder Posted June 17, 2014 Report Posted June 17, 2014 Hmmmm. Worked for me? Oh well, probably for the best. Absolutely agree. I have a spot soft for Baron owners who cry in their cockpit when they are reading their fuel flows. Quote

carusoam Posted June 18, 2014 Report Posted June 18, 2014 Brett, What is the T/O distance for the empty/light El Presidente? Best regards, -a- Quote
Hank Posted June 18, 2014 Report Posted June 18, 2014 It just seems wrong having the throttles in the middle. What was Beech thinking??? How far are the flaps from the gear switch Quote
Marauder Posted June 18, 2014 Report Posted June 18, 2014 Dare I post this here? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7T6Vn9tob2E Ok, watched it... What was all that pre-flight walk around stuff? Got motion sick watching it -- and I don't get motion sick. Liked the part where you landed on runway 1. Sure do miss those big runways. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Quote
bnicolette Posted June 18, 2014 Author Report Posted June 18, 2014 Brett, What is the T/O distance for the empty/light El Presidente? Best regards, -a- Not sure Anthony but it's pretty short. 80 knots comes up really fast and then by the time I reach for the gear handle it has passed "blue line (single engine climb speed). When Colemill did the conversion they didn't produce performance charts. The STC just says that the performance will meet or exceed that of the IO470. Quote
