Basically, any 4-seat non-turbine, non-pressurized 20year old plane that is current (inspections) can be turned into non-commercial (mostly abiding by experimental rules). You can work on it, install non-PMA and best of all turn it back into commercial (if you desire) through an A&P inspection. If this ends up becoming rule in its current form, I think it will be the game changer that GA fleet needs to survive. OR75 Posted October 13, 2013 Report Share Posted October 13, 2013 not really OK with this. sounds like a pay now or pay later deal. isn't anyone already able to convert a certified Mooney to experimental today ? the issue to me is why does it cost so much to certify some parts ( like seat belts, airbags, etc ...)
