Hey folks, I'm gonna be taking advantage of the free (or near free) gas at San Marcos so I'll be flying my birds out to Texas in early October for some book signing events. For those of you who have parrots, wish you did, or just like things that fly, come see us in Dallas or Fort Worth on Oct 12/13. Also expect to be passing through San Marcos and San Antonio around the 5th of October. Exact dates still being ironed out but will post soon.

Might be fun to meet up a little with some of our far out Mooney buddies. Will be in Phoenix as well and possibly Las Vegas and San Diego. If you're in the area and might wanna meet up or come to an event let me know. Performance schedule being updated here.

Cool, thanks for letting me know. Unfortunately, mine's too new to be considered vintage :D
Nah... More the merrier. After all, a 201 is just a fancy M20F! :)

There is a lady who lives in/near Comfort, Tx. She rescues tropical and Excotic birds. When i met her, she had 20-30 birds of all kinds at her house. It was the loudest place I had ever been. Wow they are loud.

Come on down!

If you need anything while you're here feel free to reach out.  If you're looking for a fuel stop on the north side, Sherman, TX (KSWI) is 50 mi north of the metroplex and frequently has the cheapest gas in town.  North Texas Regional (KGYI) is ~7 mi NW of Sherman is also a good option if you prefer a towered airport with an approach and fuel is only a little higher.  On the south side check out Lancaster (KLNC) for cheap fuel SE of DFW, or Cleburne, TX (KCPT) SW.

I don't think I'm going to make San Marcos this weekend but we'll see what happens.

Unfortunately Hector and Don is still working their magic so I'll not have a plane for this weekend. :( Guess I'll need to head down later in the month.

I'm planning on staying around for the Mooney Lunch Fly In at San Marcos on Saturday October 5th. I'll have my parrots and books for anyone who is interested. Otherwise just check out the extended range, aoa equipped, 201.

I'm suffering from a foot infection with an inability to walk (or use right rudder) right now, but I'm hoping to be well enough by Saturday to come.

One of the mottos of the VMG is "It is not the planes that are vintage....It's the pilots!!!"  So no airplane is too new. :)

Is this why we have missed you at the last couple of fly-ins?  Sorry to hear about your foot and hope you get well very soon.

No Greg, I have a different reason/excuse for each one. I am trying to get back to seeing all you guys more often.

Incidentally, my foot is not improving as fast as I planned/hoped, so Saturday is not looking too good.

I just got back to Texas from Philadelphia, thanks for the hospitality PTK. I definitely plan to attend the VMG fly-in at San Marcos on the 5th. Mike PM me if I can be of any help. Mike I did forward your plan to the VMG and they know you'll be there with you birds. I'm looking forward to seeing you, your birds, and your plane! Ray

Ok VMG, I'll be there! I added it to my tour schedule as well and will make a public announcement in case any bird nuts wanna come watch. Only issue I may have is I don't think I can bring birds inside a restaurant so hopefully we can find outside seating or talk them into letting us. I gotta get outta there by 1PM at the latest so let's get an early start. I'll be flying out to San Marcos tomorrow.
