Anyone have any issues with the seats supports at the hinge bending outward or the roller cams that adjust pitch of the seat back getting bent out causing the seat back adjustment to slip off the track causing it to go backwards?

Also the better half wants a nicer seat specifically with taller back support and adjustable head and arm rest. Anyone ever swapped these seats for something that more closely resembles a lazy boy???

Same problem with mine... one of the reason I bought a salvage plane so I can swap in the later model seats that are built a bit better.  They are hard to find, though!

yup my 77J same problem with the heavy gauge aluminum brackets flexing out and not seating back on the roller slots.  PAIN IN THE ASS!!! I just pulled my passenger seat out last week and used a crescent wrench to adjust it a few tweaks back in place.  It works good now, but I find the passenger seat gets way more abuse.   It only takes 5 minutes to pull the seats out so I have just decided that its a fact of life to readjust this once and a while.  I would be interested in a "fix"

Would be nice if I could purchase an aftermarket seat, if they are even made, but I'm guessing that that would require a STC.   There isn't any reason a seat with a taller back that has infinite up and down adjustments as well as the infinite lumbar adjustments and arm rests shouldn't be available.  I mean it is 2013!

I'm fine taking longer in my 201 vs a acclaim to get somewhere but the comfort level needs to come up a bit.

I've noticed that many passengers are not comfortable not being able to see over the panel like they are use to in their cars.  I bought a little seat cushion they can sit on to help them see better.  They seem to really enjoy the flight better this way.  Maybe there is also something for back of seat so they don't lay back as far.

Any fix for this? It looks like it's happening to my pilot seat now. I've just gotten used to flying like a low-rider until I can take the seat out and look. I've never taken the seat out though, so I don't even know what I'm looking at after I take it out. ('79 K)

The front and rear seats mechanism is different in my airplane. The pilot is moved via a screw set under the seat. All highly visible and it will make sense once you have it out. I suspect something is bent/damaged. To remove the seat, you just need to removed the pins in the rail that limit how far forward or rearward the seat can move. Move it past the end of the rail on the front, lift the front out of the rails, then move it back till the rear is out of the rails. When the seat is re-installed, the cotter pins are there to prevent the seat from popping off the rail in flight and need to be re-installed.
