  1. With gear up your trim will be different, your speed in the pattern will be different, not to mention the gear warning lights. You should be able to feel something is amiss. You should be more in tune with your machine. That being said I check twice, GUMP before entering pattern and on short final.
  2. CRS creeping in??
  3. Great story. Thank you for your service to those in need. You are a great American, sincerely.
  4. I called SWTA in Texas where I purchased these and they say they were designed in the 80's to fit the "J" model. I know they fit my Eagle so I would think they fit all the modern Mooneys. The price has also gone up since we bought them but I'll take the first $250.00 including shipping to lower 48. Please note this kit is for the Co-pilot side! Great for wives wanting to take the pinch hitter course.
  5. Wow, your haulin ass. My S isn't that fast. Haha. Beautiful
  6. $300.00 shipped, all needed hardware included.
  7. Plane is in for annual and having them taken off. If there is any interest please email me @ co2bruce@bellsouth.net.
  8. We have one of these in our plane. It is a great unit. We use it for weather, backup navigation, and all aeronautical information. Highly reccomend.
  9. Sorry, just read the other post. I guess you have spoken to Avidyne!
  10. Have you spoken to Avidyne? Last time I spoke with them they had no plans to make DFC 90 available for Mooney. "It's not in our plans for the next few years" it's an awesome AP.
  11. Awesome shot, that's why we fly.
  12. Premier is an authorized serve center. They will be expensive but thorough .
  13. Used to own this plane with 4 others in the late 80's early 90's . That's probably no help. Current owners purchased from us. It was a great plane back then. Long time ago.
  14. Another cheap Mooney owner auto pilot?
  15. Our S burns 14gph @ 12000 and does 175 kts by GPS. It is an easier plane to fly, full throttle, no cowl flaps to worry about. I think the S is more stable in the air, but a little harder to land. I think Cruisers numbers on the J are right on. Maintenance is about the same as most J models are older (requiring more). The S is my favorite plane I've owned so far. For the same price as the S you can find a Screaming Eagle if you look, but I'll bet the higher RPM's and prop would increase maintenance costs. Ito me it's not financially worth it to pay for the conversion for the added knots and climb, but if I lived out west that might be different.
  16. I have owned a 231, then a J, and now an S. It is not a Screaming Eagle. If you contact me co2bruce@bellsouth.net I can share what I know. Of course it's all opinion.
  17. Looks exactly like my plane, with a different tail number, and minus the dirt of course.
  18. Yes, was a known problem with early units. Ours was sent back and fixed. Talk to your avionics people.
  19. Our standard Eagle cruises at 178-180 all day.
  20. Great choice. We have an Eagle non- screaming, and could not be happier. There have been 2 or 3 fir sale on Controller for a while. Not sure if they are still there. Feel free to contact us for any questions.
  21. Amen, I thank you for the freedom your sacrifice provides me nd my family.
  22. All materials need to be FAA approved
  23. Best post in weeks. Love it.
  24. Tastefully done. I like it.
  25. We recently had a Hobbs issue and it turns out on our 1999 Eagle the hobbs runs through the tach on the Moritz. Ours was bad and I do not think anyone is repairing them any more. We wired the new hobbs to master so she is running faster. The engine monitor is the way to go but stuff is attached to the Moritz so be aware.
