  1. I know a guy that can fix......... never mind
  2. I spoke to Aspen yesterday and the 2500 conversion Will still require a backup AI. Even though the second screen offers full redundancy, and acts as a backup, the FAA requires a "backup backup" ???? He said this is a very sore subject at Aspen but currently this is the definitive answer. All that being said I think I will wait for my Moritz gauges to fail (OAT, and Hobbs feed already out) and then redo the panel.
  3. With this upgrade you can remove the vacuum system and you have complete redundancy. Plus the third MFD display. I also fly with iPad and not sure what the two extra screens would bring to the table. I don't believe I can read an approach chart on that small screen, I would keep my iPad. Just spitballing here.............
  4. Received an email from Aspen that owners of PFD 1000 can upgrade to Aspen 2500 (2 independent PFD, and a MFD 500) for under 10k. I assume that means 9,999.99 plus install. That still sounds like a good deal, or with the part 23 rewrite is it?
  5. Right Mag was 3 degrees off, cleaned plugs, and flying the pattern a little leaner. Seems fine. Thanks for all the input
  6. Here's the problem
  7. Been noticing a strange "puffing noise" coming from the engine when pulling back manifold pressure in the pattern. With gear down and MP at 12 - 14 inches is when I notice it. Plane starts fine and flies fine. I do not notice anything strange at normal - WOT. Almost sounds like a miss or something. We checked the plugs and they all look fine, and all CHT and EGT looks normal. Any ideas would be appreciated.
  8. We are a three generation family. Congratulations.
  9. In today's society I'm not so sure.

  12. The heat in my Eagle can cook a turkey if it's on too high.....
  13. They really look like they are enjoying the flight. Beautiful kids.
  14. We start by teaching them how to back out of the hanger in reverse
  15. $700.00 seems to be the going price in the Ft Lauderdale area. I don't like it, but there are people waiting for a hanger so.............
  16. What did you change to?
  17. Merry Christmas to my Mooney brothers and sisters. Let's make 2017 a safe, yet exciting year.
  18. When I owned a 231 we counted taxi time in our cool down time. Do not overboots on takeoff, a few seconds shouldn't hurt, watch it.
  19. "I was inverted"
  20. Godspeed Mr Glen. Thank you for your contribution to mankind
  21. Only once??
  22. Without trying to sound snarky, supply and demand. There are a lot of Cirrus aircraft for sale on n the same price ranges.
  23. "We were inverted"
  24. Hide your checkbook, but leave your log books in the plane....haha
  25. My understanding is you need to put the ILS / LOC freq in active. When you load approach it is put in standby. The GTN will switch from GPS to VLOC on its own but you must push the freq to active manually.
