  1. Hahaha, it would be funny if it weren't true
  2. Ouch!,,, I thought this was an inexpensive past time
  3. George, we have the same exact model, also dropped off for 310 mod at Premier.
  4. I'll be there Tues and Wed.
  5. This prop was for what application on the S model?
  6. http://aero-news.net/index.cfm?do=main.textpost&ID=568942B1-3B6B-4E35-9549-F23580A4E205 Keep up the good work at the local level. Help keep those airports and flight schools open.
  7. Ok, I take it back. This administration has done everything possible to help and promote GA and its related industries ( just like it did for the coal industry). I'm not going to argue the issues, anyone who has followed GA knows the truth. Locally I do my best to provide rides, and or information to any and all prospective pilots ( when I see them at the airport or at open houses). By being an aircraft owner since 1989 and hangering my plane at the field, I am supporting the FBO, local mechanics, avionics shops, banks willing to make aviation loans, fuel suppliers, parts suppliers and countless others all who employ local workers. I'm doing my part, but I don't need to prove anything to you. Sorry for the rant, " I'm going flying"...................
  8. AOPA picked 2 celebrities to champion their cause. Morgan Freeman and Harrison Ford, both pilots and friends of aviation. They were also huge democratic supporters at the time. This was back when President Obama was waging his war against GA. ( remember the automakers and their private jet controversies). This past administration has done more to hurt GA then any before it. This is what turned me off to AOPA. I will do what I can to support GA at the local level, but as with most huge organizations, job one is the survival of the organization, everything else is a distant second. Just my two cents.
  9. That's a tight group. Is your cylinder #1 a front? Our #6 reads like that, it's up front without the alternator in front of it so it gets the full blast.
  10. Wow, here's something to chew on http://www.avweb.com/news/pelican/182176-1.html
  11. Will Mooney be exibiting at Oshkosh, I can't find anything on their website indicating one way or another?
  12. Thanks for all the good info.
  13. Yes that is at 2400 rpm, full takeoff power at full rich on our standard Eagle.
  14. Mixture full rich. FF at takeoff is 22.9 Gph. Are you at or above the blue zone climbing out from sea level?
  15. Yes but I don't remember the temp being this high at 1700 rpm right before mag check. I could be mistaken, I'm not getting any younger.
  16. Had an issue with EGT being in the blue arc or higher during climb from sea level today. I seem to remember needing to lean a few turns on the way up to 3000. After landing I ran it up to 1600 rpm and the EGT was in the blue. That seems high to me. Does anyone know what their EGT reads at run up, or initial climb. These are pics of run up at 1600rpm
  17. Free breakfast!
  18. It's been a long time but I think you only need 12" lettering for international flights
  19. Love your paint job. Who did it, and are you happy with work?

      Hi Bruce,

Thank you for your compliments. The design was my idea and I had Scheme Designers digitize it to the dimensions of the airplane. They provided detailed instructions of the scheme to the paint shop for execution. The paint was done by Jim Russell of Russell Aircraft Refinishing in Greenwood, DE, (D74.)

I'm extremely satisfied with the work. After visiting and speaking with several paint shops I decided to go to Jim. He does a lot of Mooneys and is very experienced, is close enough in case I need to fly it back for something and was very reasonable. He wasn't the least nor the most expensive. He was middle of the road and reasonsble for my scheme. I believe that paint and avionics are big ticket items and the shops need to be fairly close to home base in case return trips become necessary.

      Thanks again!

      Peter

  20. It's a diesel, water cooled? Vents in side of cowl for radiator?
  21. My dad, who passed 3 years ago, flew a B-24 in China with the Flying Tigers. I have his jacket, and all flight training records. These guys had very little training to be flying these massive birds in combat. Listening to him, these guys were truly the greatest generation and they are missed. He is obviously where my love of flight came from, and with my son flying now, we are three generations of pilots. I hope he is proud.
  22. Godspeed Bill, prayers to your family. Aviation has lost a legend.
  23. Law that bans men that are transgender or identify themselves as transgender from using the ladies bathrooms.
  24. Does he mean the shirts will not be available in North Carolina due to the bathroom law
  25. Noooooooooooooooooo
