  1. Great job. I'm sure you learned a lot.
  2. I would check with the factory??
  3. Digital days??? The 70s and 80s were the digital number days. The FAA just discovered them in 2000.
  4. You should have a digital vaccuum guage at the upper left spot of your pannel near the fuel guages.
  5. Will be making it to OSH Friday and Saturday. I know the official meetings will be over, but will anyone still be there? Anything going on later in the week? Would love to put some faces to the names.
  6. My MSC says there is a momentary switch that can replace the factory one. You must hold it on. Ask your mechanic.
  7. Mooney's just the cutest little boy (?).
  8. I guess there is no go around at that strip??
  9. Youngest pilot to circumnavigate the planet!! http://www.generalaviationnews.com/2013/07/young-pilot-completes-solo-flight-around-the-world/
  10. Showing the spirit
  11. Like this!!!!
  12. You will be more than pleased with Aero Comfort!!
  13. Wow you can eat off that tank its so clean
  14. Can't imagine its anything but the seal. but I'm no mechanic.
  15. Wow, nice plane at a good price. Should not last long.
  16. I have a set, but I had them installed so my wife could reach the pedals (pinch hitter course). What a waste of money.... she has no intensions of learning. It is very expensive to buy and install. If you can't find any laying around and your willing to pay to have them removed, email me and maybe we can work something out. co2bruce@bellsouth.net
  17. You got that right!
  18. I get the same message, but only sometimes. Sometimes it works fine. Who knows?
  19. Long body Mooneys are heavier on the cotrols then the short body ones. I can't speak for the Rocket, but I have owned 201, 231, and now an Eagle.
  20. We have all had an experience like this, and have learned from it. Don't beat yourself up. I took off from a mountain runway on a warm day, heavy (not over gross) with wicked crosswinds (wifey in the plane). We almost didn't make it. Take away any one of these items and it wouldn't have been a problem, but throw in get home ites, and I made a terrible decission that could have cost us. I felt just like you do for a while. You learn and move on. You made an error in judgment but didn't let it compound into disaster. Congratulations, your a pilot. p.s. I have an instrument rating and it didn't prevent me from this error in judgment.
  21. First anual should be the cheepest ever, after a good pre buy. Buy you are right always get a prebuy at an Mooney service center, the one that's going to do your service is best. Then you have some recourse.
