  1. I also ended up with a PMA 7000B from PS Engineering. I ended up calling them for some information and they are the most helpful, attentive manufacturer I have delt with ever. The last time I called garmin about some chart issues I was on hold for over 30 minutes. What are you replacing? It's nice if the new unit can use the old tray........ that saves a lot of install time.
  2. Dockets idea may not be far off. As our fleet gets older and parts get harder to find (and more expensive) the owners may need to do something similar to Commander and Eclipse. That would give us all an excuse to fly back to Kerriville.
  3. Yep, MSC listened to it for 2 seconds and said thats what it was. Sent out for rebuild, should be back in the air in a few days. Thanks for all the info. This is a great site. Bruce
  4. Thats OK, I'll have my wife do it.
  5. Starter engages but can not pull engine through compression stroke. It just seems too weak. After 2 or 3 turns of the key it pulls through the "tough spot" and starts right up. When hot it will not pull though at all, takes 10 or 15 tries.
  6. Service center thinks my starter adapter is going bad. 1999 Mooney Eagle w/ IO 550. Has anyone had this repaired. They recommnend sending it out for rebuild ( $850.00 - $1400.00) and labor to remove and reinstall (4 hours). Does this sound about right? Don? anyone?
  7. It says 14 hours duration? I hate to bring up the LOP thing again, but thats a long time airborne...
  8. How about some South Florida and Evergaldes Pics ? Asheville NC 3 1/2 hours Ft Lauderdale to Asheville, gotta love Mooneys!
  9. Should we be worried that the website is still down, and they are outsourcing parts. We are flying the best general aviation aircraft in the world; it would be a shame to loose all factory support.
  10. Would recommend Premier in Ft Lauderdale. Mooney authorized, knowledgeable and thorough.
  11. I'm sorry to hear all these horror stories. I just purchased a 99 Mooney Eagle from a broker (Premier Aircraft Sales in Ft Lauderdale) and I could not be happier with their performance. I feel they they went out of their way to find me the plane I was looking for (at a very fair price), took me though the pre buy, and even offered to help on the insurance and financing if I needed. I worked with Mike Fabianiac, and I would highly recommend these guys.
  12. how much do you want for it? I just picked up an Eagle. Bruce Spencer
  13. I wish they would have added USB and a real printing solution to the iPad2. It is already a great tool in the cockpit, and for charts and such the resolution is excellent.
  14. 20K for new prop and governor. Hmmmmmm Obviously you feel it was worth it. What model prop do they use? Holding the nose off is challenging, DO NOT over flair. Hold you attitude. She likes to land pretty flat, and you got to let the speed bleed off before touching down.
  15. Thanks for the kind words Mike, but your a good teacher!!
  16. Thanks for the welcome. She is serial # 2. Not that I can afford it now, but how much is the Screaming Eagle Conversion? There is a big difference in the flight of the long body Mooney. I only have flown 3 hours so far (compared to over 200 hours in the medium body), but it seems more stable, and feels much heavier in the air. Bruce Spencer
  17. Just picked up my new to me Eagle (yea!) This is my 3rd Mooney (1977- 201, 1981- 231) and now 1999 Eagle. This is a great site, I have learned a lot from the collective knowledge here. Looking forward to many great adventures with my wife in the new bird. Garmin 430 Garmin 696 Aspen 1000 Pro
