    For a 3 hour trip, South Florida to North Carolina I fly 9-13 thousand depending on winds.

    I fly xc at 11500-12500. I ended up getting o2, it's much more enjoyable. Arrive fresh with no headache. I have an Eagle and true airspeed is 176-180kts @ 14.5 gph

    Hahahaha. I have 100's of Mooney Hours and welcome to the club. Mooney brakes have 2 settings off and locked up. Don't be on a hurry to stop, let her roll out. I've got some of those same tires.

    On ours c(M20S) it is wired through air speed pressure switch. Our switch went bad and took the Hobbs with it..

    2 people, 25 gallons per side, 300 lb scooter in baggage is doable in a long body. Just worked the numbers, inside the envelope. That said, your wife needs to be pretty strong to lift a 300 motorcycle into the Mooney.

    Hangers everywhere have to be cheaper than in South Florida! If you leave your plane in e path of a hurricane, I don't think your covered by insurance. Because you get warning you are expected to move her out of danger.

    Mooney would have floated 1/4 of the way down the runway. Sunbather would have been safe.

    My mechanic is an authorized Cessna Service Center also and the 400 is a lot more expensive to maintain. A lot of time limited parts, and parts are very expensive.

    Check with a MSC, I think these are replaced on a time schedule. I know mine was on the Eagle. Might be 1000 hours.

    The POH , and checklists were written for a reason. Owning only modern Mooneys I am speaking about those models.

    I did. Finally got fed up and requested my deposit back. It took a few months but I got it back and went with Garmin GTN 650.
