Maybe I am out of touch or LASAR took over aircraft spruce pricing model.  Just seems like a lot.  Didn't do any comparison shopping.

We are in a paradigm shift in general aviation...getting less for more is the new norm. 

Pricing has spiked across the board, but at least things are taking a lot longer.

This one bit me a couple years ago, except then it was only $20… for a nut plate.  Ironic, the all-metal corner nut plates are about $2.

Talk about inflation… Top Gun sold me this bolt in May 2024… and had it in stock.  

914004-000 (is the length as a -28 bolt)                               $194.04

That might not even be the correct part. From the M20J IPC:

3. BOLT 914004-000 IS MODIFIED NAS1309-28. MACHINE TOLERANCES ON LEG ASSEMBLY EARS MAY CREATE REQUIREMENT FOR A 914004-001 BOLT (MODIFIED NAS1309-30) OR A 914004-003 BOLT (MODIFIED NAS6609-32). PROVIDE LENGTH OF BOLT TO BE REPLACED WHEN ORDERING SPARES.

 Also hasn’t most of the GA fleet been sold off to chinese companies these days?    Seems kinda strategic

I mentioned the seat rollers going from $10.64 in 2024 to $116.57 in October 2025 in another thread recently. I guess the fine folks at LASAR read that thread and didn't like us complaining and want to teach us a lesson. They have since raised the price even higher to $139.89 per each seat roller. 

What LASAR is doing here is absolutely harmful to the Mooney community and I believe that any financial contribution to them only contributes to making Mooney parts harder to obtain.

In the something that will never need to be replaced category.    that said "modified" means regular bolt ground off slowly to not mess with temper and clean up with file.

Fun fact it looks like the Mooneys that got static wicks were the ones that had lightening detectors on them.    The problem with removing them is then there is a hole in your flight control surface.

Mine has a strikefinder, but I never thought the static wicks were just for that. I thought flying IMC could build up static and affects COMs/NAVs radios.

One more data point in support of my fun fact.   The clean airframe keeps the static down in the Mooney.   my 75 F did not have them

Anyone ever seen "St Elmo's Fire" all over the airplane in heavy dry snow at altitude? 

Static electricity takes on a new dimension when that happens  :-) 

If it came with static wicks from the factory they are  probably part of the TC and they all need to be there to be "technically"  legal

I've said several times that parts pricing today is based on what a new airplane TODAY will cost   @ 1 MILLION $$$$$

What did a Ford F-150 cost in 1975 compared to today?  Have you priced Ford parts lately?
