wilswan Posted June 18, 2012 Report Posted June 18, 2012 I recently updated my instrument panels. However, now my fuel gages are very irratic and dance and play games all over the dials. Have sprayed WD-40 and electrical contact cleaner on circular connectors on rear of engine instrument cluster, but with no results. Any suggestions on a remedy or can the fuel gages be purchased? I fly basically by the time flown with a reserve, so the gages are really a backup. THANKS! Quote
M20F-1968 Posted July 4, 2012 Report Posted July 4, 2012 I have a set of working gauges (entire cluster) from a 1967 low time M20F. You can call me at (617) 877-0025 or e-mail me at johnabreda@yahoo.com if interested. John Breda Quote

Oscar Avalle Posted July 12, 2012 Report Posted July 12, 2012 I replaced the cables and connectors during my panel upgrade and the Fuel gages and other indicators returned to life. Quote
FloridaMan Posted July 18, 2012 Report Posted July 18, 2012 My plane has both the panel mounted gauges and the gauges in the wings. Both are stable and agree with one-another, but the wing-mounted gauges appear to be spot-on accurate in flight. Quote
MooneyMitch Posted July 18, 2012 Report Posted July 18, 2012 "but the wing-mounted gauges appear to be spot-on accurate in flight." Now, that's an interesting statement as everything I've read about the wing gage is that it is NOT accurate in flight, only when sitting on the ground. Quote
