Moving M20C without engine

Help!  I had a prop strike and the engine needs to be removed. I need to move the plane back outside after a A&P pulls the engine.
Anybody have experience with doing this? What counter weights can I put on, how to attach?

Tie some barbells to the engine mounts. If that's been removed also, bolt some lumber to the mount holes with correct-sized bolts, and hang weights there. Sandbags should work, too, just tie them on well.

You'll need to approximate the weight of the engine, more if the engine mount is off.

I’ve seen. 30 gallon drum used. You can tie it on while it’s empty then fill it with water. Put the big bung hole at the top to fill it, when you are done shove one end of a hose in the top bung and siphon out the water.

Sand bags cheap easy and clean strap them on with a couple of ratchet straps. You can get the woven plastic bags of sand at Home Depot or Lowes

I used to keep three 60-lb tubes of sand in the back of my little Ranger pickup in WV, really helped with traction in the winter.

Shouldn't be hard to hand them from the engine mount; it'll be more work if the mount is also off.
