Hi all, I am the proud new owner of a 1993 M20J. In the process of getting to know her, I found this :o

image.jpeg.5f7aec665c0f620524ffc5dcdc4f067c.jpeg

I reattached the SCAT duct, but it's pretty ratty. I think it's time to just go through and replace all of them under the cowl.

I found this thread, but I cannot get either link mentioned to work. Is Gee-Bee Aeroproducts still making finished SCEET hoses? I also see customducts.net mentioned here as the successor to Jonathan Kinney. That link also doesn't work, but there's a website here by the same name.

Obviously I could just go to Aircraft Spruce and order some regular ole SCAT duct, but I'd like to know what everybody else is using, and maybe I can find something more durable.

Thanks!

@Gee Bee Aeroproducts Those look really slick. I was considering have the SCAT tubing replaced (by SCEET, similarly) during my upcoming annual this month. At least one SCAT tube had fallen apart on the initial annual last year, and I was thinking it would not hurt with my intermittent CO leaks to replace at least the heat and vent tubing.

Do you have the specs/measurements for a set for the M20TN (type S if it matters)?

It’s best to measure the I.d. Of the duct or the joining flange.

Then the length end to end

We Can mfg in a week or so

Please use blue or white silicone adel clamps , not tyrap to secure.

I used Custom Ducts (customducts@gmail.com) 603-239-2345 last year and they did a great job.

They don’t mfg there ducts

they buy a roll and tape on the ends

You must have a autoclave to produce assys .

Do they supply Aerospace clamps ?

There is a difference when you can provide certs with your product.

Compare quality between products

Good luck with that

I have used both custom ducts and geebee.  Nothing wrong with custom ducts - the product is exactly as they say.  But I think Geebee's are a bit better quality and I prefer them (also I like the black look).  Also ship fast.

Not required as the product is made to your specifications.

Certification of conformance is required to tso / oem holders per there print .

We have sold thousands of feet in various specs to the Airforce as were the only mfg that can do elbows with 3” or 6 “ drop 90 elbow .

General aviation piston won’t pay the price for elbows.

It sure as heck is required here in Canada. At least a CoC stating that they're made to meet or exceed OEM specifications, or else nobody is going to be able to install them here.

I like your workmanship, and I'd like to put these on my plane, but no Canadian mechanic will touch them without the proper paperwork.

Sold with certs

only way to get 8130 is to purchase through mooney .

I sell too many shops per there I.d. And length all over the world.

And various mooney shops

Check with your mechanic about

ac43.13

m20 overhead vents

homemade non finished ends vs finished ends
