I'm trying to correct what was done 30 years ago... With the passing of every year, Mooney's in general become more and more bespoke. They remind me of '59 Havana Chevy's. They only resemble the day that they came from the factory, but they look great and are well maintained. 4 Quote

I'm definitely a stickler for things being done 'the right way', as much as possible. There's several little squawks that I'm taking care of along the way. The turbo will supply line is just one in a moderately sized list.... I have a few interior trim pieces that need attention or are just missing. <sigh> Quote
M20F Posted October 23, 2024 Report Posted October 23, 2024 I keep forgetting to take pictures. Scavenger pump has 3 hoses that all run to the right side. Top goes back to the oil pan (bottom right corner) Right side is a vent out to the bottom. Should be a little rubber hose. Bottom goes to the turbo (scavenger sucks through this hose and pushes out top hose) On the turbo there is a hose that goes over to the turbo which pushes the new oil to the turbo. I can’t remember what it comes out of but it is on the left side somewhere. Mine has a spin off filter so that is an addition not originally there. I have to go out tomorrow will try to remember to snap some pics. There is no stand alone filter in my set up. 1 Quote

It's the turbo oil supply line at the accessory case that I'm mostly concerned with. Don't know how you have room for the spin-off oil filter back there! It's _TIGHT_ on mine. Next week it goes in for another Garmin G5 (has the HSI, now adding the AI), vacuum delete, which should free up some space in the engine bay. Quote

I just want to make sure I get the right pictures for you. Quote

M20F Posted October 26, 2024 Report Posted October 26, 2024 This is the hose that comes out of the oil filter (top left of engine) and goes to the turbo. It runs in the chasm behind the mags where the prop governor and some stuff sits. This is the continuation of the same hose where you can see it duck down. The scavenger pump is in top left (you can see the hose on top that goes to the oil pan) and the vacuum pump is in the middle of the screen affixed to the scavenger pump. The hose then goes under the engine and connects to the turbo. This is the hose that brings oil into the turbo. It comes out of the chasm and is under the case and muffler going to the very bottom of the cowl and then into the turbo. Scavenger pump has three fittings. The top hose goes back to the oil pan (the end of the loop). There is a vent hose on the side. The bottom hose receives the return oil from the turbo which goes out the top and into the oil pan. The top hose on scavenger goes to back right of oil pan (returning oil) I thought I took a picture of from the turbo to the scavenger pump but I guess I didn't, that is probably the easiest of the hoses to track though. Let me know if you need it or have any questions. 1 Quote

In the grand scheme of things, I suppose that's OK. I'm going to be installing the Airwolf remote filter to replace the Oberg unit, so will probably 'T' from the out-side of the oil filter adapter to the turbo. Thanks for the pictures. It helps me know that what I have isn't far out of 'normal'. Quote
