I have a friend who has a 1980 K. He would like to replace his seats with the newer style that articulate up and down. Does anyone have some they would be willing to sell?

Those hardly ever come up for sale and when they do, expect to pay big bucks. They usually sell for whatever is asked within a day or two.

To give you a reference point, in 2011 Mooney list price was $3035 for just the metal bottom part of one seat with no upholstery. I have no idea what it would be now.

A used set without upholstery in 2012 were advertised for $5000 and I'm sure someone got them.

Usually you have to get the whole plane along with the seats to get those. However, a little birdie tells me the fox just got a 252 strapped to a set of the new style seats you're looking for.

This is the same seller that comes on Mooneyspace, Jerry Pressley and Brent Pressly  @Jerry Pressley

Also as @201ermentions, @Alan Fox parts out Mooneys. But everyone that sells these seats knows what they are worth, so be prepared to pay up. I'd be surprised if someone hasn't already spoken for the seats out of N252YS.

Here's an ad he had for articulating seats a few years ago:
