PierreL Posted September 25, 2023 Report Posted September 25, 2023 Yesterday, when I took the Monney for a quick flight, I found out that the small white pin for the KAP150 self test was missing. Impossible to test the AP. It was quite unpleasant and I have no idea how this could have happened. Is anyone experienced such issue and solved it? Thanks Quote
PT20J Posted September 25, 2023 Report Posted September 25, 2023 I would check if @Jake@BevanAviation or Mid Continent has parts to repair it. The computer has a static line connection on the back that needs to be removed before you can pull the computer out of the tray. Skip Quote
Jake@BevanAviation Posted October 1, 2023 Report Posted October 1, 2023 088-00762-0000 is the part number for the button. Shows active on Honeywell's website but only request for quote. I do not have any stock of this button. Quote
PierreL Posted October 1, 2023 Author Report Posted October 1, 2023 Thank you for your reply. I will send some RFQ for this P/N Quote

Thanks I used a straightened paper clip to push in where the “button” was when mine broke until I could get it fixed. A mechanical pencil will work too. 1 Quote
PierreL Posted December 4, 2023 Author Report Posted December 4, 2023 Thank you for your post. This is what I am using now. How did you fix it? When you found the pin where you able to remove the KAP front panel and replace it by yourself or you had to go through a repair center? Unfortunately I was not able to find this spare part so far. My ultimate fix was to replace the KAP 150 with a GFC 500 , but that doesn't help you at all. I was considering pulling the unit, removing the face plate, and fabricating a new pin on the original plastic part. Unfortunately this isn't a legal way to go about it, but I was confident I could make it work. Tell you what - I still have the A/P computer that was removed from my airplane. I'll pull the face plate and take some pictures to show you what's involved and you can make your own decision on how to proceed. I'm out of town and it will be a couple of weeks before I can get to it, probably some time the week of the 18th. Cheers, Rick Quote
PierreL Posted December 4, 2023 Author Report Posted December 4, 2023 Thank you Rick, that will be helpful to receive these pictures. No rush, I can continue using the paper clip for a while. Regards Pierre 1 Quote
