I  looked at a lot of the old threads and I know this topic has been hashed out over the years, but looking for an update from the wealth of knowledge....

Anyone see anything of interest at Sun'n Fun or any other local airport show?  Looking to upgrade my Glare Shield lights to LED and would prefer Certified, but would go with a known manufacturer that could be signed off.  Really don't want to just grab some unknow lighting off the web that may cause issues (of course in IMC on a dark night :o).

I do know about the SPT lights that Aircraft Spruce is showing.  Anyone have any pro or con stories on them?  I also reached out to @OSUAV8TER, but he's not currently carrying any Glare Shield lights.

Easiest is just to replace the bulbs with LED bulbs from aero-lites.com.

I believe @donkaye had some sort of LED strip lights installed by Top Gun. You might give Top Gun a call and see what they are using.

My plane is in Annual right now.  I didn't like the blue lights.  I had Mark replace them with the white LEDs that should work like the old bulbs.  I thought about red, but didn't want to have to replace them a second time if I didn't like them either.  Mark said the combination red or white were problematic, so white it was.

I have red LEDs and a couple of white regular lights on the left side because I didn’t know if I would be able to dim the LEDs and I wanted to have some white light just in case I needed to read a chart, checklist, etc.

I had read about aero-lites.com before, but forgot all about them.  That may be the best way to go.
