Aviators, got new wastegate assembly last week, my actuator is leaking, wastegate is working fine, in order to replace whole assembly and not just the actuator it would be good to have the clamps on hand, part # is:

LW-12125-3, Spruce says backorder end of June, Air Power says backorder no idea when, anybody know where to find them? otherwise I will just replace the actuator for the time being and replace the wastegate when I get the clamps some time down the road

This is what my A&P wants to do, there is a small chance the clamp is cracked or gets cracked during removal, having a new clamp sitting there eliminates that risk, kinda like a having a fire extinguisher

There is a clamp that only allows for two re-torques, for very good reason, but it's not the clamp you're referring to.

Here's the one that caused some fires: http://mooney.free.fr/Mooney SB SI/283a.pdf

By the way, on the turbo and wastegate and exhaust pipe, personally I would only allow someone who has specifically worked on Bravos before to handle this. I had a good mechanic at a Cessna Service Center inspect mine on one of the Bravos I bought and after I ferried it back from FL to TX the Mooney expert that looked at it back here found a large crack in a weld in less than a minute. You really have to know where and what to look for on this exhaust system. That's the same weld that gave way on another Bravo, and the fire that resulted blow-torched the firewall and killed the occupants before they could get it back on the ground.

yes, good point, I understand that the wastegate clamps are less failure prone than the one behind the turbo, Brian Kendrick does my annual every second year and he explained to me where to look for cracks in the Y-transition weld, I check that weld every 25h oil change, on the backside with a mirror, all that plumbing glows bright orange in cruise, anything breaks you have a blowtorch against the firewall
