Igor_U Posted December 12, 2022 Report Posted December 12, 2022 This is the test for all KPAE and transient pilots. Have a look online (google map) using link below or attached screen grab. Something is gone, missing. What would that be? https://www.google.com/maps/place/Paine+Field/@47.908145,-122.2835861,924m/data=!3m2!1e3!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x54900159b82b97fd:0x4e3571c12e342514!8m2!3d47.908145!4d-122.2813974?hl=en I'll give you guys a day to figure it out but I'm sure someone will notice it right away and say it. There's no prize involved, BTW. Good luck. Quote

Igor_U Posted December 12, 2022 Author Report Posted December 12, 2022 Bingo! And the winner is: @Ragsf15e There are dozens of planes deleted from the satellite photo, like all the planes on the flight line, the number of unfinished 777-9 on the closed Rwy 29 or around the Boeing plant, as well as the KC46 tankers getting furnished at the south end of the filed. Even the chopped wing B727 used for firefighters training is gone! I can assure you those planes were never moved, they were photo-shopped and deleted (canceled?) from the picture. I really wonder why anyone would do that! Maybe Boeing asked for it but why? If you go and look KMWH, you’ll see hundreds of dormant 737 Maxes waiting for fix and delivery, not to mention nearby Whidbey NAS with all the P8s and F18s… If you go to the Map-quest, you can see picture taken this fall (after Taxiway Echo constructing started) with dozens of Boeing planes present in every corner of the field. Strange. Quote

Strange. It is weird. Are we sure it’s just not a real old picture? Is there some way to tell? I flew right over the other day and was amazed by how many planes were there! Quote

Strange. This happens at a lot of airports and I don't know the motivation for it. If you look at the google maps imagery for Deer Valley, KDVT, there are zero airplanes parked on the north ramp. There are always a ton of airplanes there, including most of the DVT derelicts that haven't flown for decades. It's an obvious photo manipulation, but I've no idea what the motivation might be. Quote

I flew right over the other day and was amazed by how many planes were there! Google map copyright is 2022 and I estimate picture is about year old as it looks like they completed markings on east end of Taxiway Echo, across the closed RWY 29. It seems trucks are still there and some barriers in front of (deleted) 777-9 jets. I am not sure how to check actual date picture was taken on google maps. That closed runway turned into parking lot in late 2000’s having number of “troubling teens” 787s parked, after that they had unfinished KC46s and then some 3-4 years ago we have 777-9s. And even today, after all the Boeing production cuts at KPAE, flight line is almost full. 45 minutes ago, EricJ said: This happens at a lot of airports and I don't know the motivation for it. This is the first time I’ve seen this done at KPAE and wasn’t aware it’s a common practice. I find it strange. Attached is (bad) screen capture from Map Quest. Picture is taken in September-October of 2022 as they have started reconstruction of Taxy Echo by the fire station (highlighted yellow). You can see a dozen of planes… 2 Quote
Jim Peace Posted December 18, 2022 Report Posted December 18, 2022 They have been removing images of planes at a lot of airports for years.....not sure why..... Quote
