Pete, are you using the same vertical bar as Andrew?

Yes, I'm using the straight up and down bar...   It's called the pipe.

In some financial searches I've read the | can be used for Either/Or, but with hit or miss results.  In searching Google "Search" sites, the | never comes up as a standard modifier. (That I can fine.)  I do see individuals making comments that it never gives consistent results.

Do you have a reference where it specifically says to use it in a Google (or other SE search)?

Never seeing it used in that way, so I was curious and I tried it the other day.  Using the | gave me no better search than using only quotes (e.g. “no back spring”).  Well, it did bring up the generic mooneyspace.com as the first item, but not related to the back spring.  That's why I recommended the way Google suggests you do it with site:mooneyspace.com  There's a space between what you're searching for and the site, but no spaces between the "site:url" (and note the colon : in there).  If you haven't tried it, use either of the following and you'll see you get pages of ONLY mooneyspace.com listings on the back spring.

“no back spring” site:mooneyspace.com

no back spring site:mooneyspace.com
