pilotjeff Posted March 15, 2022 Report Posted March 15, 2022 Can anyone recommend a “midwest” service center or independent mechanic they trust? I live in Milwaukee Wisconsin, so driving distance would be awesome. I used to use Northwest Flyers out of Schaumburg IL, but they sold off the FBO in February. Quote
StevenL757 Posted March 16, 2022 Report Posted March 16, 2022 A bit longer than driving distance, but I’d consider Eric Rudningen - Oasis Aero at Willmar Regional Airport (KBDH), phone 320-214-9669. Paul Beck - the fuel tank sealing master - is also co-located here, so if you have any pesky fuel leaks or need tank repair work, I highly suggest getting Paul to look at it while you’re there. I’ll be there in a couple of months for a full strip and reseal, and can’t imagine anyone else resealing my tanks. Let us know what you decide. 1 Quote

Paul resealed my tanks in 2019 and Eric has an awesome reputation as a Mooney Service Center. Eric can also pickup or deliver your plane if you prefer. John. OASIS and Weep no more are both founding sponsors of the Mooney Summit, and continually give back to the Mooney Community. Eric is. also a Mooney Pros, Inc. Instructor. You wont go wrong up there. 2 words...fair and honest 2 Quote

glenn reynolds Posted March 19, 2022 Report Posted March 19, 2022 I’m based on the west coast and am planing to stop again in Wilmer for a future annual. Excellent service from both these guys. Quote
exM20K Posted March 19, 2022 Report Posted March 19, 2022 My first choice would be Oasis, if you can get on the schedule. I’ve had Chicago Aviation Services at DPA annual and perform other maintenance on my M20TN. They are an active cirrus service center, so if you have an ovation or acclaim, you can rest assured that they are very good with the CMI 550’s. Don Maxwell introduced me to a ferry pilot who has airline privileges, so that is another good option if you can get on his schedule. -dan Quote
