willerjim273 Posted March 23, 2021 Report Posted March 23, 2021 I just spent a fortune on one. But for you out there who may be looking: Does anyone know the specs on the Lasar "ETA", OR what that means? https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/nkk-switches/SW3823-U/2106547 https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/nkk-switches/SW3821-UC/1047680 https://www.nkkswitches.com/pdf/SW-1.pdf https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/nkk-switches/SW3821/1027479?utm_adgroup=Switches&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Shopping_Supplier_NKK Switches_0360_Co-op&utm_term=&utm_content=Switches&gclid=Cj0KCQjwo-aCBhC-ARIsAAkNQitlJWkJ-Epi https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/nkk-switches/SW3821/1027479?utm_adgroup=Switches&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Shopping_Supplier_NKK Switches_0360_Co-op&utm_term=&utm_content=Switches&gclid=Cj0KCQjwo-aCBhC-ARIsAAkNQitlJWkJ-Epi https://lasar.com/switches/rocker-switch-high-boost-circuit-breaker-930023-219 = $314.00 Quote

Later models have the ETA. There is a difference in the attachment of the switch to the buss bars. I posted a thread a few years ago showing the differences. Electrically they do the same thing. It is the mounting that I think was different. Quote
Marauder Posted March 23, 2021 Report Posted March 23, 2021 Here is a picture of the two styles. The Klixon is on top. Quote
PT20J Posted March 23, 2021 Report Posted March 23, 2021 Also remember those switchers are circuit breakers. Quote
willerjim273 Posted March 23, 2021 Author Report Posted March 23, 2021 One difference I see is the mounting screws. Quote

Most of the Klixon rocker switches in Mooneys are breaker switches, so if you replace one with just a switch, you need to add a circuit breaker for that function. It's probably cheaper to buy the proper breaker switch. There are some new-style breaker switches that people are putting in Mooneys, like the new stuff the factory is using, but they're expensive, too. 1 Quote
carusoam Posted March 24, 2021 Report Posted March 24, 2021 The big reason they are so expensive... They are complex circuit breaker switches... They are unique, and stuck between the instrument panel and the bus bar... Trying to put in a different switch, probably won’t physically fit... If redoing the entire instrument panel... some MSers have gone to more modern switches with separate circuit breakers... If buying the same CBswitch that is in your panel... Aircraft Spruce carries the entire line... you may have to talk with somebody to order it... for some reason not every permutation of part numbers is in their catalog... PP thoughts only, not a mechanic... Best regards, -a- Quote
