Has anyone ever seen oil leaking from the two large bolts/plugs on the bottom of the accessory case on a tsio360?  I’m trying to see if this is just a re-torque or needs new washers/gaskets too.

I’ve noticed a little oil on the front tire when I come back to fly after the airplane has been sitting. Traced the leak to this.

Related, does anyone know the function of these bolts?

pardon the picture, the turbo oil lines are is in the way.

The lowest one, not necessarily in the picture, is the engine oil screen - checked at annual. They use a copper crush washer. Standard parts. You can look up the size on the TCM site IPC.

Expect that crush washers are a one time use item...

Probably a quick fix... proper size, proper orientation of the washer, and torque, and safety wire...

PP thoughts only, not a mechanic...

They are just plugs on the accessory case.  Only purpose is to plug those holes.

The oil screen is the horizontal  plug facing the firewall on the pilot’s side just above these plugs. (Not pictured)

It may not be leaking from those bottom plugs. An oil leak anywhere on the accessory case will run down, hang on and drip from those plugs.  I get a drop there after a few hours.  I occasionally reach up through the left cowl flap and dab it off.

Next oil change I would replace those crush washers to eliminate that variable. But good chance it’s something higher up.

cheers,

Dan

Thanks Team!  Seems oil free further up higher upon my brief inspection, so here’s hoping it’s just the plug(s) leaking after 1500 hours.
