Yetti Posted December 7, 2020 Report Posted December 7, 2020 So do you need to Annunciator panel for the GPS when the glass panel shows the source? VLOC vs. GPS Seems like an interesting discussion when marrying 20 year old tech with new glass. Quote
201Mooniac Posted December 7, 2020 Report Posted December 7, 2020 I guess it depends on what glass but I don't have a separate annunciator with my G500 TXi, all the annunciations are on the TXi. Quote
Ragsf15e Posted December 7, 2020 Report Posted December 7, 2020 It was a long time ago, but I think I read that it depends on where the gps is mounted. As long as it’s not too far away from normal field of view, no annunciator is required. In a Mooney it’s pretty hard to get that far away! Quote

Ya I think it was measured in degrees off the line of site and things. 1 Quote
Warren Posted December 8, 2020 Report Posted December 8, 2020 I think it looks like the G3X also meets this requirement. 1 Quote
jamesm Posted December 10, 2020 Report Posted December 10, 2020 (edited) I don't have annunicator panel with Dual G5's and GNC255 (nav/com) and GNC355 (GPS/com) and GAD29B. The G5 has it built in specifically for this setup or similar GTN setup. I can toggle between VOR/LOC /ILS and GPS driving the CDI on G5 displays. it takes a few button pushes and knob rotation to do it though. I should clarify the G5 has the annunicator on the display. It's a kind of pain but it works. James '67C Edited December 10, 2020 by jamesm 1 Quote
